BIONUTRIENT INSTITUTE
Defining the scientific standard for Nutrient Density in food
We conduct peer-reviewed field and food research in the current food supply so we can establish the global standard around food quality - from field to plate.
WHAT WE DO
Defining the Standard
We are establishing the scientific framework for measuring nutrient density across 20 key food crops - and keeping it in the public domain.
Why we are doing this →
Peer-Reviewed Research
Our field and food studies generate the data that underpins the standard - published in leading scientific journals and openly accessible.
View the Research →
A Global Coalition
We are building the international network of scientists, institutions, and organizations committed to adopting NUTRIENT DENSITY as measurable standard.
The Treaty →
The Bionutrient Density Study in Beef
Our flagship study examines how farming practices influence the nutrient density of beef across dozens of farms. Measuring mineral content, fatty acid profiles, antioxidants, and more - we are building the most comprehensive data set of it’s kind.
ACTIVE RESEARCH
DEFINING THE STANDARD
We are defining the scale of what the Bionutrient Meter will measure.
We are not building the Bionutrient Meter. The Bionutrient Institute’s role is establishing the scientific standards that govern how nutrient density is measured - ensuring that any device, any lab, and any system uses the same rigorous, evidence-based framework.

THE TREATY ON NUTRIENT DENSITY
A shared definition for a global food system.
The Treaty on the Definition of Nutrient Density is a living document inviting scientists, farmers, institutions, and policymakers to allign around a common, science-based framework for food quality - and commit to advancing it.
PARTER WITH US
Fund a study. Shape the standard.
Research partnerships with the Bionutrient Institute offer the opportunity to fund individual crop studies, be named as a funding research partner, and participate directly in defining how nutrient density is measured and recognized globally. We are currently seeking partners for our next series of crop studies.
